Rouen, the capital of Normandy is where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake in 1431. At its heart is an impressive Gotic cathedral and charming half-timbered houses line the city’s narrow streets.

Giverny is where Claude Monet, one of the most famous Impressionist artists made his home.
