Camping in The Loire

‘The Garden of France’

The Loire region is situated in central France. With breath taking scenery and plenty to see and do camping in The Loire is a beautiful way to spend your next holiday.

The country’s longest and most beautiful river, the Loire winds majestically through some of the most beautiful countryside in France.

Equally impressive are is tributaries, the Cher, Indre and Vienne, which wind lazily through avenues of poplar and willow trees.

The Loire Valley is also home to the finest collection of Renaissance chateaux in France – built by members of the French aristocracy forced from their Paris homes by The Hundred Years War. Many have ‘Sound and Light’ displays throughout the summer, which offer the most atmospheric way to visit them.

The area is also known as ‘The Garden of France’ as so much produce is cultivated in the area. Local wine varieties include Saumur, Chinon and Vouvray.

There are many superb and interesting places to visit in the Loire including Le Mans, Poitiers, Chenonceau, Grottes de Savonnieres and Chambord.
